Winter & Summer season 2025
Find below the current offering of winter snowshoes and avalanche training, with theory and practical exercises outdoor (avalanche bulletin & snow profile, map reading and route planning, how to utilize transceiver/shovel/probe).

Note:
N. of participants: typically max. 6-8 pp. In case of larger groups, might be possible to arrange engaging multiple guides.
In most cases the arrival point is different from the departure point. The goal is to enjoy the most when being outdoors, with the possiblity to customize the trek routes. For these reasons no fixed end time is listed, suggesting to avoid cars and rather relying on Swiss public transportation for a more flexible experience.

SNOWSHOE WEEKEND
& basic avalanche training

Meeting point: Tannenboden (SG), h. 9:00 AM
Goal & Plan: experience a combination of fitness with snowshoes hike (WT2 difficulty, 10 km average per day, 600m up, 600m down, 4-5 h), learn the basics of avalanche and safety. The training will include theory as well as practice with transceiver, shovel and probe. We will close the day with gourmet food and finally relax our muscles in the outdoor hot pot!

REICHENBACHTAL discovery - 4/5 DAYS
Date: 27th Sept to 1st Oct 2025, to be confirmed
Start: Meiringen (BE), h. 10:00 AM
End: Grindelwald (BE), h. 8:00 AM
Excursion: at first we will visit the Aare gorges with their powerful waters. In the following days our trek would focus to discover the whole Reichenbachtal. The valley is located between Meiringen and Grindelwald, a kind of "portal" to access the more popular Jungfrau region. Let's find out about history, traditions and nature, with panoramic views of the biggest peaks in canton Bern.

VIA ALPINA 2025 - 4 days

Start: Lauterbrunnen (BE), h. 9:00 AM
End: Adelboden (BE), h. 16:00 PM
Excursion: departure is planned from Lauterbrunnen, with incredible views of Eiger, Jungfrau and Mönch all along our path in direction Gspaltenhornhütte SAC (1st overnight). From there we will head down towards Griesalp and Kiental. The following day our trek continues towards its highest point at about 2'800m in Blüemlisalp and later down to Oeschinensee lake. After a good sleep in Kandersteg the last day will lead us to Engstligenalp waterfalls and Adelboden.

Pizol 5 lakes - 1 day

Meeting point: Wangs Pizolbahn (SG), at 9:00 AM
Excursion: from Gaffia, panoramic hike with five crystal clear mountain lakes, over Glarus and Grisons mountains. Direction Pizolhütte (last lift at 16:00). Bring your own snacks.

GEOLOGY HIKe - 1 day
Date: postponed to 2025, due to early 2024 snow
Meeting point: Flims Dorf (GR), at 10:00 AM
Excursion: Long hiking day and guided geology tour: from Startgels, across Sardona Tectonic arena exploring the origins of our Alps, direction Tschinglenalp down to Elm. Bring your own snacks.

Ascent & Descent: 1100m / 1150m
Length & Duration: 11km, 5h15 (excl. breaks)

* Price in CHF, per person. Assuming a group of min n. 4 adults. Subject to slight changes, according to exact tour scope (start/end point, alternate trek, additional lifts, etc.) and actual n. of participants registered for the hike.
Price includes:
Overnight stay at SAC hut and half pension for each guest. Planning and animation by Mountain Leader, as well as his expenses for the specific trek. Price includes train-bus-lift tickets where clearly mentioned for each trek, assuming the participants to be in possession of SBB Half Fare.
Price does not include:
Private or public means of transportation to the trek location/starting point and return. Any meal/beverage such as lunch/snacks which are not part of half pension, unless clearly specified. Travel cancellation or rescue insurance.
Payment:
To be performed at booking, 100%, cash.
TWINT or bank transfer possible for larger amounts; payment details will be transmitted to the participants at booking.
In case of cancellation by the participants: 50% fee is due if cancellation within 30 to 15 days prior to the start of agreed trek; 100% fee is due in case of cancellation within 14 days or in case of no show.
Trek Confirmation:
when reaching minimum n. of 4 participants
safe weather conditions
at latest within 72 h before the trek departure time.
Remarks:
Do not buy any train/lift tickets until the trek and specific route are confirmed

In case of unfavourable and unsafe weather conditions or disrupted transportation connections, it will be guide's responsibility to propose a different trek location (plan B) or suggest different dates prior agreement between the parties.
By signing up, participants take personal responsibility for her/his knowledge and abilities, alpine skills, fitness level and any health issues. As well confirm for having valid and sufficient health and accident insurance that also covers search, rescue and repatriation costs.
